The second in a new season of benefit gigs for next years Scarecrow Corner at Strawberry Fair on Saturday 3rd June, 2017 and will mark the 20th anniversary of the area!
DOG SHITE – First Cambridge gig from this Agit-pop/ska tinged socially aware anarcho Punk band hailing from London. Dogshite formed because they wanted to have a laugh and to make music to equal to that of their heroes of old. Not only that, they also wanted to be in a band that actually had something to play for, that weren’t just an insipid excuse for lounge-rock/ vacuous posturing/ sub-rebellious MTV nonsense BECAUSE where are the youth of today when you need them?
DOGSHITE have played well received sets at Boomtown Fair (on the Devil Kicks Dancehall stage the last two years and on The Invisible Circus stage before that) and Onionfest, Waveform festival, Brighton Punx Picnic, and regularly play for London Squat-Punk kings Reknaw amongst others.
Fronted by the feisty Carmel and featuring members of Back To The Planet, they have released their first Limited Edition EP on Beetroot Records with more releases set to follow on We Moodswing and their own imprint Your Face My Arse Records as well as an album on Beetroot next year. They are part of a growing band of musicians, drop-outs and fuckwits based in North London going under the name Freak Salad Collective…you heard it here first

THE DIRY STOP OUTS – Cambridge-based Dub/Ska/Experimental band formed in March 2016. Members include those of Freedom Faction, Murder Ballads, Inter City Crazy Train, Bastard Squad UK and The Avoiders, all successful bands in their own right. Since their formation they have played at Strawberry Fair, sharing a stage with the likes of PAIN, Ratbag and The Skraelings, as well as a number of shows at the Portland Arms, supporting a number of charitable causes. They recently played their first London gig supporting The Pisdicables and hope to have their first EP out soon.

LAST GANG IN TOWN DJ’S – Last Gang need very little introduction in Cambridge – this DIY punk collective have been constantly putting on gigs for the last 13 years and for the last 4 years have been hosting the Devil Kicks Dancehall at Boomtown Fayre as well as DJ’ing at Strawberry Fair in Scarecrow Corner. Their own hometown gigs continue this autumn.
