The Alley Club Cambridge presents Chris Pope (The Chords) + support from Absolute Beginners and Blis.
Helmed by founding member and songwriter, Chris Pope, The Chords UK were formed in 2013 to continue playing ‘classic’ Chords tunes such as ‘Maybe Tomorrow’, ‘The British Way Of Life’ and ‘So Far Away’.
10 years of touring with The Chords UK, including dates in Europe and the USA, and after the release of three critically acclaimed alt – rock albums, ‘Take On Life’ (2016) and ‘Nowhere Land’ (2018), Big City Dreams (2022) with the band. Chris has recently started to combine solo performances as well. He was special guest on From the Jam’s Unplugged tour throughout the spring & summer of 2022.
Chris himself was described by Paul Weller as “the best songwriter of his generation”, by Uncut as “savage as Townshend with a toothache” and Vive Le Rock as creating, “timeless song writing and understated brilliance!”
Chris has also released three very well-regarded solo albums: ‘Grace Of God’, ‘Tall Tales & Cheap Thrills’ and ‘Peace of Mind’.
