Comedy for CalaisSome of the area’s top stand ups come together for a night of comedy to raise funds for the Cambridge Calais Refugee Action Group. www.cambridgecalaisrefugeeaction.org.uk

Formed earlier this year by Cambridge residents concerned about the growing humanitarian migrant crisis, the group has been collecting supplies and organising convoys to Calais to help those living in one of the most notorious refugee camps in Europe.

Geoff Norcott is a regular headliner at some of the UK’s top comedy clubs and his quick witted anecdotal style recently earned him a nomination for best new show at the Leicester Comedy Festival as well as a writing commissions for the Sarah Millican Television Programme and a new sitcom for Radio 4. www.geoffnorcott.com

David Trent is a multi media comedian who uses projectors, anger, withering wit and electric guitars to pick apart the absurdities of pop culture. He has been described by Stage as, ‘a creator of bold, category-defying comedy’ and by the Guardian as ‘a first rate comic mind’. www.davidtrent.co.uk

Hannah Dunleavy’s wry observations on politics, religion and growing up in Newport Pagnell mean she’s just at home on the stage as she is on the page – a former Cambridge News columnist she now fires her razor sharp wit at US election hopefuls, TV ballroom dancers and the thorniest of topical issues in cult online mag Standard Issue. www.standardissuemagazine.com/author/hdunleavy

The night will also feature special guests from Cambridge University’s renowned comedy troupe Footlights, fresh from their world tour.
