The Spitfires + Meriden Socambridgeposter20172359und System

The Spitfires are a Watford-based 4 piece who have released 2 albums (Response, A Thousand Times) and have extensively toured since their inception in 2012.

The band have scored a national UK number 1 vinyl single with ‘So Long’ and have entered the UK Independent Charts at Number 6 and Number 2 respectively.

The band are led by frontman, lead vocalist, guitarist and songwriter Billy Sullivan who is joined by Sam Long on Bass and vocals, Chris Chanell on keyboards and vocals and Matt Johnson on the drums.

Their work ethic and powerful song-writing mixed with their acute social commentary and lack of mainstream industry support has made this fiercely independent band one of the most popular underground success stories in the UK today.

This DIY attitude and independent spirit has earned them a dedicated following and helped the band sell out shows across the whole of the UK and Europe.

The Spitfires gear up for 2017 by playing some selected live dates and starting work on their next album.

Sat 18th February – St Luke’s, Glasgow (Supporting Pete MacLeod)

Sat 25th February – The Portland Arms, Cambridge

Saturday March 25th – The Horn, St Albans

What the press said about A Thousand Times:
