The OVC’s annual performance of Public House collects testimonies from students at Cambridge and Anglia Ruskin Universities to stage a verbatim play. 50% proceeds made will go to Cambridge Rape Crisis. The idea is to continue performing the play until the University meaningfully addresses the prevalence of sexual violence, or until the play is no longer relevant for other reasons.

This year’s performance will be held at The Portland Arms Pub at 7:30 PM on the 3rd of May 2022. The evening will include an art workshop before the performance where the audience will be invited to draw, paint and collage. This will be followed by a verbatim play made up of real sexual violence testimonies. There will be welfare officers present throughout the evening. After the performance, we will hold a talk with the Cambridge Rape Crisis, who will receive all proceeds collected from the event. The audience will be invited to continue their art projects as we hold an open mic session where we will have a selection of poems and other pieces.
