Jeremy Loops is an award-winning folk musician from South Africa, whose debut album Trading Change debuted at No. 1 in his land and was named Album of the Year 2014 by iTunes SA.
One of South Africa’s biggest drawcards and a mainstay on the domestic festival circuit, his annual one man show, #LoopsBosch, hosted in his hometown Cape Town, draws a sellout crowd of 6000. He would leverage his domestic pull into a US support tour with Rebelution and a European support tour with Twenty One Pilots in 2015. His debut headlining tour of Europe, titled Continental Drift, takes place in January and February 2016.
Early 2014 saw the African release of Trading Change, his critically acclaimed debut album. It would go on to be selected by iTunes South Africa as Album of the Year 2014, and spawned three chart-topping singles, namely Down South (ft. Motheo Moleko), Skinny Blues, and Sinner.
A commercial success too, the album has since gone gold after debuting at #1 on iTunes South Africa’s Charts, and earned Jeremy the Best Pop & Alternative Award at the 2015 MTV Africa Music Awards, as well as two South African Music Awards nominations, including one for Best Newcomer. He also counts an MK Award for Best Live Act in his cabinet.
