Morganway

“Flawless 5 part harmonies accompanied by the warm glow of honest Americana riffs and melodies” – The Troubadour London

Morganway bring some of their favourite acts from the UK Country scene to The Portland Arms, Cambridge for a night of Americana, Roots, Rock & Country. After a hugely successful summer, the band have gathered momentum and fans (who include the legendry whispering Bob Harris), opened the Cambridge Folk Festival Stage 2, played a barnstorming set at Buckle & Boots and received two nominations for the British Country Music Awards (Group of the Year and Entertainer of the Year). They have also been recording their debut album which is due for release in 2019. 2018 has been a hell of a year for this East Anglian-based seven-piece, so grab your tickets now and catch their brilliant live act (did we mention that Stradisphere Festival voted them best live act?)

Morganway delivers a fiery fusion of Americana, country, rock and blues, melding five part harmonies with driving riffs. The band features twin brothers Callum (vocals/guitar) and Kieran Morgan (lead guitar), SJ Mortimer (vocals), Nicole Terry (fiddle), Matthew Brocklehurst (keys), Rory Hill (bass) and Ed Bullinger (drums).

Gasoline & Matches

“Sassy, funky, Little Big Town infused country right from the heartland of the UK” Lyric
Magazine

With their debut single ‘Fool’s Gold’ reaching Number 1 in UK ITunes Country Chart, a
headlining performance at The Hard Rock Café London and a five date Californian tour in the
bag, Gasoline & Matches are already proving why they’ve been named as Lyrics Magazine’s
‘Artists to Watch’ in 2018. With their impressive blend of Fleetwood Mac-esque harmonies,
Brad Paisley infused guitar solos and energetic live performances, they were shortlisted for
Best Country/Folk Act in Birmingham Music Awards 2018 and have received a nomination
for Duo of the Year at the 2018 British CMA Awards alongside The Shires and Ward
Thomas.

The duo initially met back in 2011 when their paths crossed in a guitar shop in Birmingham.
Shortly after meeting, Sally was due to move to America, so they decided to write, record and
perform just a handful of shows together before she left. Upon Sally’s return, it was a matter of
weeks before the duo reconnected and formed Gasoline & Matches. Enlisting the help of
experienced producer Gavin Monaghan and the more recent addition of bass, keys, banjo
and drums to their studio & live performances, it has allowed the duo’s sound to develop and
bring the songs alive.

Demi Marriner & Robbie Cavanagh
Robbie Cavanagh performs self penned, unscrubbed tales of heartbreak, loss, love and discovery, and when he puts pen to paper, he lives by his own words. ‘The more you wrestle with an idea, the more contrived it becomes’. Robbie writes with honesty, emotion, and most importantly; instinct.
With a stack of notebooks, a head full of ideas and a collection of incredible jackets, Demi Marriner is a songwriter well worth keeping track of. Demis heart and mind are equally beautiful, soulful places and her songs and performance encapsulate that perfectly.
Since their first co-write over a year ago, Demi and Robbie have developed a strong collaborative bond, writing and recording stronger and more moving songs as their creative relationship continues to grow. In this run of shows, the pair will be showcasing individually self penned songs, as well as co-writes from their upcoming EP ‘This House’.
