Green Mind’s booker Simon has a brain condition called Hydrocephalus, which causes fluid to build up on the brain and is treated by inserting a small valve called a shunt to drain it – http://www.nhs.uk/Conditions/Hydrocephalus/Pages/Introduction.aspx. Jess from Carolyn’s Fingers was treated on A4 after being struck down by Guillain Barre Syndrome a couple of years ago, so there’s a big incentive to give something back as a thank you.
Having experienced the dedication and hardwork of the Addenbrookes neuro team on several occasions in recent years we wanted to do something to give a bit back, so we’re running a few fundraising gigs with all proceeds going to the department, via Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust – Making a Difference for Patients (ACT). We hope you can make it help us raise some money while watching some awesome acts!
