The wait is over – The Ilfords of Ilford Road Metro Station of the Tyne and Wear Passenger Transport Executive of Newcastle upon Tyne are coming to Cambridge FOR ONE NIGHT ONLY and they’re bringing more than 10 years of making bad decisions as a collective with them. Fresh off the back of a headline sellout at Camden Assembly, the Ilfords are riding a wave at the minute. With a UK tour lined up this summer, appearances on BBC Introducing under their belt and a sizzling EP on the horizon, the Ilfords are ones to watch this year.
Highly acclaimed local jazz group Temor will also be gracing the stage on the 14th. Lodged firmly amongst the hottest local musical prospects, Temor will be bringing a level of class most bands can only dream of and showcasing the extreme levels of musicianship that can be achieved with actual talent and hard work.
We will also be joined by exceptional singer songwriter JAYNE – a favourite of BBC York and North Yorkshire, her sound is influenced by artists like Jeff Buckley and Damien Rice and she’s absolutely not one to sleep on. Expect some of the most enthralling, atmospheric songwriting you’ve heard.
And last but absolutely not least, local supergroup Quasar will be rocking up and dropping one of the chunkiest sets you’ve seen this century. They are without a shadow of a doubt the finest hip hop/jazz/R&B 9 piece on the circuit and will be breaking out tracks from artists including Kendrick Lamar, Robert Glasper, Ms Lauryn Hill and Outkast.
Come down to one of the finest live music establishments in Cambridge and witness mind-blowing musicianship and talent from Temor, JAYNE and Quasar. And after you’ve seen that, stick around and watch the Ilfords. Why not?
